Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of training at Rime?
In our company we can offer you many different development opportunities. You will be working with the latest technology because we are always investing in new machinery.
What would I be expected to do as a trainee at Rime?
You will run through all of the work processes starting with the guillotine shears, then you will be given simple tasks such as drilling and thread cutting. Over the course of time, the tasks will become more complex, until the point when you will be able to operate the smaller machines on your own.
Where will my vocational college be?
In the first year of training you will attend the Riesa Regional Training and Qualification Centre. You will then change to the vocational college in Dresden, because laser machining is not taught in Riesa.
When do I have to work in shifts as a trainee and what will they be like?
That depends on how old you are. If you are younger than 16 years old, you may only work the early shift i.e. from 6 am to 2.30 pm. If you are older than 16 years old, you may (but do not have to) also work the late shift i.e. from 2.30 pm to 10.00 pm. When you are 18 years old you will work in three shifts.
A question to the boss: Is it likely that I will be taken on? If so, under what conditions?
Yes, it is even very probable! That offers only benefits, because you have got to know the company in the training period and we have already shown you everything. That eases the transition into the world of work. The performance that you bring to the company is more important than marks.
A question to the trainer: Do you enjoy working with trainees and why?
Yes, of course. The most rewarding thing is seeing the personal growth in the trainee. The trainee asks many questions in the course of the training, and it is always a pleasure to answer them.
A question to a former trainee: Did you enjoy your apprenticeship? What was the best thing about it?
Definitely! The coolest thing was being shown all the different things you can do with metal. I really enjoyed learning this trade.
