Alongside DILLIMAX, DILLIDUR is also a wear-resistant steel produced by the Dillinger steelworks. It is very hard and due to its low phosphorous and sulphur content it is also still tough at low temperatures. Due to its low alloy content, despite its hardness this steel is still easy to work. For this reason, this material is ideally suitable for the production of Wearing parts.
DILLIDUR is easy to cut, weld and cold work, e.g. by bending. These properties are especially useful in repair cases. The replacement of whole components can be minimised or even prevented, as in most cases it is sufficient to cut out the worn area of the component and to replace it with an appropriately prepared sheet or plate. That steel in all its different variations can be easily cut by means of lasers, blowtorch, fusion or plasma cutting.
DILLIDUR is available, among other things, in the following grades:
DILLIDUR 325 L
is made with sheet and plate thicknesses from 5 mm to 50 mm. The surface hardness at room temperature is 325 Brinell for 10 mm plate thickness. The material is easy to bend, hot work and machine. Due to its increased wear resistance, it is used to produce excavators, conveyors & materials handling systems as well as dump truck bodies.
DILLIDUR 400 V
is water hardened and is made in sheet and plate thicknesses from 6 mm to 150 mm. The surface hardness at room temperature is 370 – 430 Brinell. DILLIDUR 400 V is very easy to weld, roll bend and bend and machine. Hot working is not recommended. Thanks to their high wear resistance in conjunction with very good welding performance 400 V and 450 V are used in the production of agricultural machinery, industrial truck systems, crushing plants and even waste disposal plants.
DILLIDUR 450 V
is water hardened and is made in sheet and plate thicknesses from 8 mm to 100 mm. The surface hardness at room temperature is 420 – 480 Brinell. DILLIDUR 450 V is easy to weld, roll bend and bend. Hot working is not recommended.
DILLIDUR 500 V
is water hardened and is made in sheet and plate thicknesses from 8mm to 100mm. The surface hardness at room temperature is 470 – 530 Brinell. DILLIDUR 500 V has the highest wear resistance. Welding and bending are only possible with increased time and effort. The very high wear resistance in conjunction with good welding performance enable that steel grade to be used in the production of transport systems, earth-moving plants, recycling plants and even stone crushers.
is water hardened and is made in sheet and plate thicknesses from 40mm to 120mm. The surface hardness at room temperature is 310 – 370 Brinell. Welding and bending are only possible with increased time and effort. IMPACT has a higher resistance against abrasion with very good toughness against impact wear in combination with good welding performance. This steel is therefore preferably used in the production of excavator buckets, stone crushers or even loading machines.
